Power Surge Protection

Power surges can happen at any time. They arise from several causes like faulty gear, storms, extreme fluctuations in voltage to a circuit or provide deficiencies from your electricity company. Due to greater sophistication in electronic wiring, the slightest burst in electricity may lead to substantial ruin to electrical components resulting in permanent damage.

Among the most common causes of electricity surges you will find: repeated interruptions of the power flow, and lightning strikes and other related events that send an electrical impulse back in the circuit. Although most people have a tendency to blame power strikes on lightning, thunderstorms are only responsible for a measly 2 percent of surges. Any extra current is redirected to the floor through the ground wire. The explosion connection remains in an inactive state until a voltage that’s excessive compared to some standard one causes it to direct additional current to the floor through the additional cable. This prevents excessive current from flowing to your house appliances thus shielding them from damage.
